The successful candidate will be expected to manage and maintain an efficient Occupational Health Service and Risk-Based Medical Surveillance Programme for all University of KwaZulu-Natal employees and students on the respective campuses. To implement, with the assistance of other Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) team members, the University Occupational Health policies, procedures, and legal requirements, thereby providing a working environment that is safe and healthy. To always work within the professional scope of practice and within the legal boundaries of the various Acts that apply to the job and the profession.
Minimum requirements
· Grade 12
· Diploma/Degree in General Nursing and Midwifery.
· Diploma/B. Tech in Occupational Health Nursing.
· Certificate in Spirometry.
· Certificate in Audiometry.
· Certificate in Dispensing Course for Health Care Professionals.
· Valid Driver’s license.
· 5 years in an Occupational Heath setting
· Computer Literacy.
Statutory Requirements
· Current Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner.
· Current Registration and proof of professional indemnity with the South African Society of Occupational Health Nurses.
· Registration with SASOHN as an Industrial audiometric
· Valid Department of Health License to Dispense
