Introduction
The incumbent is required to:- Manage all aspects of the state-of-the-art Simulation Centre that is responsible for providing clinical and skills training to undergraduate, postgraduate students and staff of the College of Health Sciences, the allied hospitals as well as private practitioners. Supervise other departmental staff, purchase and maintain/repair all consumables, models, mannequins, and other equipment required for such training. Initiate, manage, and develop satellite simulation sites. Provide training to all department staff in the efficient use of computer equipment and software in their daily tasks. Manage the allocation, maintenance, and repairs to departmental PCs, laptops, and printers across the training platform and assist in monitoring departmental assets. Coordinate and contribute to undergraduate students learning sessions during the simulator sections of blocks. Assist in the delivery of other departmental courses and workshops as needed. Coordinate, plan, and provide input into research projects where needed. Create and maintain personal research projects. Plan, program and maintain databases for administration and research purposes as well as contribute to website maintenance.

Minimum requirements

  • Matriculation/Grade 12/Senior Certificate;
  • BSc Degree in  Medical Science or Health Science related discipline
  • Three years computer experience including programming

Essential for the Post:

  • Four years experience in a simulation environment or other  associated relevant experience
  • Experience in Advanced Human Patient Simulation
  • Teaching experience and/or qualification
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in life support and medical procedures
  • Operation and repair of life support devices
  • Ability to manage AV equipment and video editing
