Job description
• Develop web templates for university websites, optimize graphics for web and other electronic mediums.
• Manage and update the top-level pages of the University’s website with institutional events and news and provide support across over 250 sub websites (including support division, Innerweb).
• Create websites for UKZN Colleges/Schools/Units/Centres using the Wordpress, and provide specialist consulting, training and support to the web masters.
• Produce University Electronic newsletters on a weekly basis, responsible for the design layout and distribution.
Minimum requirements
1. A relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
2. Five years’experience, in which two years is in a similar post (as a webmaster), preferably within a higher education, research or corporate communications environment.
3. Management and supervisory experience is essential.
4. Code 08 driver’s licence as the candidate will be required to travel between the campuses.
5. Four years’ experience in creating websites in CMS and writing web applications, specifically as follows;
· Demonstrated experience in developing online applications and debugging in Visual Studio.Net. Web Portals, Database design and Stored procedures for online applications.
· Experience in Windows server environment, managing IIS and site creation procedures
· Demonstrated experience in graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite, Web Premium
