Introduction
The School of Law in collaboration with the Department of Higher Education’s New Generation of Academics Programme, has an exciting opportunity for eligible candidates to pursue a career as an academic and researcher in the field of reproductive law.
Job description

  • The successful candidate will be expected to register for a doctoral degree at UKZN, focusing on a topic within reproductive law, and will be closely mentored to become an academic through a programme designed to assist with early career development
  • The incumbent will report to the Academic Leader responsible for the discipline

Minimum requirements

  • A relevant Master’s degree, preferably in reproductive law, with a 70% average pass
  • Appointment of candidates who already hold a Doctorate/PhD is supported, however, the requirement of the 70% average pass mark from a Master’s degree still applies
  • Relevant working experience in lecturing, research, or industry
  • South African Citizen
  • The successful applicant will be expected to complete a PhD within 5 years from the date of assumption of duty
