The School of Education is well established with a strong research profile and has a larger number of undergraduate and postgraduate students. The incumbent will coordinate and teach various modules at the postgraduate level in the field of Teacher Development Studies. The incumbent may also be required to teach foundational modules in Education Studies. S/he will be expected to conduct research and provide student supervision at the postgraduate level. This position requires an academic willing to undertake further studies and research to contribute to the development of the Discipline. A successful candidate will also engage in curriculum development and assess undergraduate teaching practice.
The incumbent will report to the Academic Leader : Education Studies.
Minimum requirements
- A Doctoral degree in Teacher Development Studies or other related disciplines
- At least 6 years of working and relevant experience in either teaching, research, or industry
- Evidence of current and sustained publication of independent research in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level
- Evidence of sustained and successful attraction of external research grants
- A sustained track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and PhD level, appropriate for the level.
- Evidence of national and international recognition in a research area within the discipline.
- Evidence of strong and sustained academic leadership within the Department / School/ College/ University, which includes mentorship and coaching.
