Job description
- The School of Laboratory Medicine and Medical Sciences wishes to appoint an academic who will contribute actively to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and learning, research and community engagement.
- Candidates will be required to do administration.
Minimum requirements
Minimum General Requirements for both levels:
- All applicants must have an undergraduate degree in Anatomy or related field
- Computer literacy
- Valid driver' s licence
LECTURER (2 POSTS):
- A relevant master’s degree
- A proven track record in research
- Teaching, Administration and Research requirements, as applicable, in the University criteria guidelines and job profile
A successful candidate at the Lecturer level will be expected to complete a PhD within 5 years of the date of assumption of duty.
SENIOR LECTURER:
- A PhD Degree in a relevant discipline
- Evidence of appropriate teaching experience in a relevant field at tertiary level
- Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in DHET-accredited scientific journals, appropriate for the level
- A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and/or PhD level appropriate for the level
- Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as a member of a team
- Appropriate clinical experience
The appointment will be on the January 2018 Conditions of services.
