The incumbent will be responsible for providing financial services at an operational level to the student services division. This includes ensuring that the processing of the Student services financial transactions is processed accurately and in line with the policies, procedures, legislation. The role will also be responsible for resolving all the queries.
This position will report to the Accountant Students Service Finance (SSF).
Minimum requirements
- A Degree majoring in Accounting or a three(3)-year accounting qualification(B Acc/ B Compt / BCom. / BTech.)
- Minimum of three years post qualifying experience in an accounting environment.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of Accounting (Management and Financial), Taxation and Auditing requirements.
- Ability to reconcile and interpret cost reports, cash flows, balance sheets, income statements and analyses.
- Fully computer literate including MS Excel and MS Word.
- Administrative skills – sound organizing and administrative ability
- Experience in Higher education and working knowledge of the ITS system will be an added advantage.
- Understand the University’s policies and procedures, committee structures and decision-making bodies and processes.
