Introduction
The University Capacity Development Programme Office seeks to appoint an Events Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating a range of events for the Research UCDP Projects.
Job description
The Events Coordinator will develop an annual events implementation plan in accordance with the UCDP-approved plan and coordinate events for the Research Office projects in consultation with the Project Manager, University Dean of Research, College Deans of Research, Corporate Relations, and other UCDP team members. The role includes arranging and organising a wide range of events, ensuring that the event marketing materials are developed and disseminated, venues are booked, catering is organised, and all necessary logistics are handled including maintaining an events management database, drafting and dissemination of communication, designing and distributing invitations, managing RSVPs, and public relations. The coordinator will also assist the Project Manager in coordinating sub-grant calls and reviews.
Minimum requirements
- Three (3) year Diploma in Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications.
- A minimum of three years' work experience in administration and events coordination of a medium scale for more than 50 people
- Good coordination and planning skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email.
- Experience in public relations work, specifically organisational skills to plan and organise functions and events.
