Introduction
Manager Accounting Services will be responsible for teams University-wide, across all 5 campuses, for the Financial Reporting Department.
Job description

The incumbent reports to the Director: Financial Reporting and is responsible for the preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements for UKZN and its affiliated entities, management reporting, budgeting, asset management and ensuring compliance with financial regulations, policies and international financial reporting standards. The incumbent will also provide financial accounting guidance and support to members of the University and assist with approval of online payments.

Minimum requirements

·       Relevant four  (4) year Honours Degree (Accounting) and completed articles at an audit firm;

.        Preferably, a Registered Chartered Accountant, CA (SA).

·       Five (5) years of relevant accounting experience, at least three (3) of which should be at a managerial level;

·       Experience should include the preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements, monthly/quarterly management reporting, budgeting and control of assets;

·       Sound working knowledge of IFRS and all relevant laws and Acts required for the preparation of annual financial statements of an entity;

·       Fully computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

·       Effective staff management and leadership;

·       Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
