Minimum requirements
- Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a specialist in a relevant clinical discipline;
- MMed or, CMSA equivalent qualification as medical specialist;
- 3 years’ experience in the relevant medical specialty
- A PhD Degree in a relevant discipline OR A Master’s degree in relevant discipline and Professional Registration with HPCSA (for clinical disciplines only).
- Evidence of appropriate teaching experience in a relevant field at tertiary level
- Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level.
- A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and/or PhD level appropriate for the level.
- Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as a member of a team.
- Appropriate clinical experience
- Computer literacy
- Valid driver' s licence
- A PhD degree in the relevant discipline OR Master’s degree in the relevant discipline, with evidence of submission of PhD for examination.
- Experience in teaching in a relevant field at tertiary institution.
- Evidence of presentations, at national or international conference.
- Current research activity as evidenced by a publication in quality scientific journals.
- Appropriate clinical experience
- Computer literacy
- Valid driver' s licence
