The School of Education is well established with a strong research profile and has a large number of undergraduate and postgraduate students. The incumbent will co-ordinate and teach various modules at undergraduate and post-graduate levels in the field of Educational Psychology. The incumbent may also be required to teach Inclusive Education modules at the undergraduate level. S/he will also conduct and provide student research supervision at the postgraduate level. This position requires an academic who is willing to undertake further studies and research to contribute to the development of the Discipline. A successful candidate will also engage in curriculum development and assess undergraduate school-based teaching practice.
The incumbent will report to Academic Leader : Education Studies
Minimum requirements
· * PhD degree in Educational Psychology or relevant discipline
· * Three (3) years working experience in either Teaching, Lecturing, Research or Industry (in the relevant field or discipline).
· * Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level
· * A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and/or PhD level appropriate for the level
· * Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as a member of a team
Lecturer
* A PhD degree in Education Psychology or related discipline OR Master’s degree in Education Psychology or related discipline, with evidence of submission of PhD for examination.
* Experience in teaching in a relevant field at tertiary institution.
* Current research activity as evidenced by a publication in a peer-reviewed journal, book chapter and/or conference proceedings.
