The School of Health Sciences wishes to appoint Academics who will contribute actively to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, learning, research and community engagement. Successful candidate(s) will be required to perform some administrative work, such as, but not limited to, acting as module(s) coordinator.

 The successful candidate will be required to contribute actively to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, learning, research and community engagement. Successful candidate(s) will be required to perform some administrative work, such as, but not limited to, acting as module(s) coordinator.


Minimum Requirements:
·      All applicants must have an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy
·      Current registration with the Health Professions Council as a Physiotherapist
·      Applicants must have a relevant PhD degree or a Master’s degree in physiotherapy, with evidence of pursuing a PhD for appointment at lecturer level
·      A relevant PhD degree in Physiotherapy as an Advantage for Lecturer / Requirement for Senior Lecturer level
·      Demonstrated experience in facilitating learning at the undergraduate level
·      Demonstrated competence and 2-year experience in facilitating learning and assessments at the level(s) required by the Health Professional Council of South Africa for the B.
Physiotherapy curriculum as an Advantage for Lecturer / Requirement for Senior Lecturer level
·      Demonstrated competence in postgraduate supervision and a track record of publications as an Advantage for Lecturer / Requirement for Senior Lecturer level
·      Two years of clinical experience for a Lecturer with a Masters (including community service programme for candidates with a Masters only
·      Professor level: Experience working as a scholar (either lecturing, doing research, or working in industry) in the relevant field.
·      Associate Professor level: Relevant experience in either teaching, Lecturing, Research or Industry.
·      Senior lecturer level: Experience of working in either Teaching, Lecturing, Research or Industry in the relevant field or discipline
—- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office packages (especially Excel and PowerPoint)      
  • Valid code 08 driver’s license
