Job description

The School offers a vibrant educational and research environment in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Mathematics and Statistics. It has many well established national and international collaborative research linkages.

In order to strengthen its teaching and research capabilities, the School wishes to appoint a candidate who will actively contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as supervision and research in Computer Science.

The successful applicant will report to the Academic Leader of the Computer Science discipline.

Minimum requirements

Senior Lecturer:

  • A PhD Degree in Computer Science. 
  • Evidence of appropriate teaching experience in a relevant field at tertiary level.
  • Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level.
  • A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and/or PhD level, appropriate for the level.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as a member of a team.

     

Lecturer:

  • A PhD degree in Computer Science OR a Master’s degree in Computer Science, with evidence of submission of PhD for examination.
  • Experience in teaching in a relevant field at tertiary level.
  • Evidence of presentations, at national or international conferences.
  • Current research activity as evidenced by publication in quality scientific journals.
