Introduction
The SCHOOL OF NURSING AND PUBLIC HEALTH wishes to appoint an academic with relevant experience in Health Economics who will be based in the Discipline of Public Health Medicine. Job description

  • The candidate will be expected to develop and contribute to multidisciplinary, team-based research, postgraduate supervision, postgraduate teaching, and research supervision in the Discipline
  • The candidate will be expected to develop and lead Health Economics research and teaching across the College of Health Sciences

Minimum requirements

Minimum Requirements (for both levels)
  • Applicants should have a PhD in Health Economics
  • Experience in teaching Health Economics at a postgraduate level for at least one year
  • Evidence of having conducted Health Economics analysis for publications
  • Minimum of five publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Evidence of successful postgraduate supervision at Honours/Masters level
  • Participation as a team member in a grant or submission of grant application as a principal investigator (PI)
  • Valid driver’s license
Associate Professor
  • Evidence of curriculum development
  • A minimum of eighteen publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • A sustained track record of successful supervision of Masters and PhD students in the last five (5) years
  • Evidence of sustained and successful attraction of research grants from external sources, participating in international research projects and collaborative initiatives
  • Evidence of providing service in a leadership position/s (academic leader of discipline, programme coordinator/research unit)
