Job description
The School of Education is well established with a strong research profile and has a large number of undergraduate and postgraduate students. The incumbents will co-ordinate and lecture modules in isiZulu Education, including literature, language and media, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The incumbents will supervise and assess undergraduate teaching practice, and will also supervise postgraduate students. She/he will be expected to engage in curriculum development and delivery. She/he will be expected to play a pivotal role in teaching and research in the isiZulu Education discipline.
The incumbents will report to Academic Leader : Language and Arts Education
Minimum requirements
SENIOR LECTURER
- PhD degree in Isizulu Education or related discipline
- Three (3) years working experience in either Teaching, Lecturing, Research or Industry (in the relevant field or discipline).
- Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level
- A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and/or PhD level appropriate for the level
- Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as a member of a team
LECTURER
- A PhD degree in IsiZulu Education OR Master’s degree in IsiZulu Education, with evidence of submission of PhD for examination.
- Experience in teaching in a relevant field at tertiary institution.
- Current research activity as evidenced by a publication in a peer-reviewed journal, book chapter and/or conference proceedings
