Introduction
The incumbent will be responsible for the provision of Information Systems and Technical support to the Library and university community.
Job description

They are expected to provide support on a broad variety of technologies, including, but not limited to the Library Information Systems, Server technologies, Repositories, and Database management systems.  The incumbent must ensure that the various systems implemented on servers are operating optimally and provide subsequent support thereof.

Minimum requirements

·       Three (3) year relevant professional qualification in librarianship (e.g. National Diploma in Library and Information Science), or an equivalent qualification.

·       Five (5) years relevant experience (e.g. in an academic library or in the scholarly publishing industry in a client service role by assisting clients with queries of a technical and non-technical support nature.

·       Hands on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Information Systems and related systems and technologies, for example Content Management Systems, Repositories, Webserver technologies and Database Management systems.

·       Knowledge of IT functionality and knowledge of software programs including experience with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.
