The Ethics Manager is responsible for researching, developing, and implementing Ethics policies, practices, and frameworks that will regulate behavior and embed a culture of integrity at the University. The outcome of such interventions will promote accountability of the workforce, particularly at leadership and management levels, where decision-making is key. Ensuring compliance with the legislation and related ethical governance documents such as King IV, University policies and procedures, code of conduct and other ethical standards. Institutionalisation of ethics management through awareness programmes. Monitor and evaluate compliance to strengthen internal controls and mitigate risk
Minimum requirements
- Matric, and a relevant Honours Degree and Ethics Officer Certification by the Ethics Institute
- Eight (8) years' experience in Ethics and in an integrity Environment, of which three (3) years must be managerial experience
- Knowledge of codes of conduct and regulatory frameworks with regard to ethics and integrity
- Knowledge of ethics program management and implementation
- Experience in conducting investigations and handling confidential information
- Experience in developing and delivering awareness programmes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve ethical issues
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and establish rapport with employees, stakeholders, and external contacts
