Job description
- The University is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to take up a vital role within the Maintenance Department, responsible for coordinating all in-house and outsourced projects in the HVAC / Mechanical Section.
- The successful candidate will provide administrative and financial support to the Maintenance Manager while serving as the key liaison between clients and contractors.
- This role also involves delivering consultative and advisory services on all mechanical-related matters, including cost control, contract administration, project management, and risk associated with technical completion.
- A strong emphasis will be placed on maintaining a high standard of safety and quality, while also providing leadership to subordinates.
- The incumbent will play a critical role in Energy and Environmental Management, ensuring utility consumption is maintained within budget and contributing to the reduction of the campus's carbon footprint.
Minimum requirements
- Matric
- National Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
- Trade Tested HVAC Artisan
- Valid South African Driver’s License.
- 5 years post-qualification in a mechanical or electrical engineering environment, of which 2 years should be in a supervisory/management role
- OHASA
- Statutory requirements of pressure vessels
Advantages:
- Experience in a University environment/Property/maintenance industry / Wireman’s License
- Knowledge of statutory requirements of pressure vessels
