Job description

The successful candidate will be required to contribute actively to undergraduae and postgraduate teaching and learning, research and community engagement. They will also be required to do administration.

Minimum requirements

All applicants must have a PhD in a relevant deiscipline, including computer literacy and a Valid Driver's licence. In addition, the following will apply to each of the levels indicated below.
 
Professor:
  • Evidence of Excellent teaching experience and leadership in curriculum development in a relevant field at tertiary.
  • Excellent and sustained publication of independent research in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level;
  • Excellent and sustained track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and PhD level; appropriate for the level;
  • Excellent and sustained track record of successful attraction of external research grants;
  • Evidence of strong and sustained academic leadership within the Department/School/College/University, which includes mentorship and coaching;
  • Evidence of national and international recognition in a research area within the discipline;

Associate Professor

  • Evidence of appropriate teaching experience and curriculum development experience in a relevant field at tertiary level;
  • Evidence of current and sustained publication of independent research in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level;
  • A sustained track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and PhD level, appropriate for the level;
  • Evidence of sustained and successful attraction of external research grants;
  • Evidence of national and/or international recognition in a research area within the discipline;
  • Appropriate clinical experience;

 Senior Lecturer:

  • A PhD Degree in a relevant discipline; 
  • Evidence of appropriate teaching experience in a relevant field at tertiary level;
  • Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level;
  • A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and/or PhD level appropriate for the level;
  • Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as a member of a team;
  • Appropriate clinical experience;
  • Computer literacy AND
  • Valid driver' s licence.
