Job description
The incumbent will be responsible for the preparation of all documentation and data relevant for debt administration. This includes assisting with the collection of amounts due to the University, allocation of payments attending to the queries from the debtors, University community and other third parties. Other duties include general office duties i.e. filing, photocopying, word processing and emailing.
This position will report to the Accountant Executive support.
Minimum requirements
- Matric/ Grade 12-, and 1-year relevant qualification.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in debt collection and debt management
- Basic knowledge of accounting and reconciliations.
- Experience in working with Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets, Microsoft Word and online data processing.
- Good problem-solving skills and planning, organizing and coordinating.
- Proven experience in dealing with people at all levels
- Have the ability to build good working relationships and provide good customer service.
- Understand the University’s policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of the ITS system
- Understand the University’s policies and procedures, committee structures and decision-making bodies and processes
