Introduction
The purpose of the job is primarily to drive the ICS Division toward its overarching objective of compliance with the UKZN IT Strategy. ICS is client centric and a singular team with no silos, which means that as a need/gap/crisis arises in any part of the team, all team members are required to make time available to support the area of the team that is needed.
The incumbent is responsible for processing all incoming calls to the Switchboard in a courteous and polite manner, while maintaining a positive and professional image. To the general public the switchboard represents the image of the University. The incumbent is also required to update the telephone directory database in order to have accurate and up-to date information so that callers are directed to appropriate people within UKZN.
Minimum requirements
· Matric;
· Computer literate.
· 12 months Switchboard/PABX Operations experience in a large and geographically distributed organization, preferably in a University Environment.
· Ability to fluently speak and understand English and isiZulu.
