- The incumbent will be expected to contribute to teaching and research within the discipline of Psychology.
- She/he will also be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum development, and supervise postgraduate students
Minimum requirements
- PhD degree in Psychology or a related field.
- A professional Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology.
- Three (3) years working experience in either Teaching, Lecturing, Research or Industry (in the relevant field or discipline).
- Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level.
- A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and/or PhD level as appropriate for the level.
- Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as a member of a team.
Evidence of registration with the Health Professions Council as a Counselling Psychologist, with 3 years’ experience post-registration.
- A PhD degree in the relevant discipline OR Master’s degree in the relevant discipline, with evidence of significant progress in doctoral studies.
- A professional Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology.
- Experience in teaching in a relevant field at tertiary level.
- Evidence of presentations at national or international conferences.
- Current research activity as evidenced by publication(s) in quality scientific journals.
- Evidence of registration with the Health Professions Council as a Counselling Psychologist, with 1-2 years’ experience post-registration.
Appointment to this post will be on the January 2018 Conditions of Service. The total remuneration package offered includes benefits.
