Job description

The College of Law and Management Studies operates from three campuses, with its main office on the Westville Campus. The College consists of four large Schools operating across campuses, with a student population of over 10 000 under-and-post-graduate students and 357 staff. The College seeks a dynamic individual with a solid academic foundation at the university level to fill the Director of Professional Services position.
 
The key functions of this post are the effective operational management of all College- based professional support and administrative services (at the College and School levels), for the delivery of the College objectives, by shaping, influencing and implementing strategy and policy.
 
The Director is a member of the College Leadership and Management team, collectively responsible for delivering the University's strategy.
 
The incumbent will oversee all day-to-day College operations of Finance, Human Resources, Public Relations, Student Academic  Administration, and Student Support Services, interacting closely with other central divisions.
 
The post requires travel between the campuses of operations, although the incumbent will be based in Westville.
 
The incumbent will report via dual reporting lines to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Head of College, and the Registrar.


Minimum requirements

  • ·        A relevant Master's degree
  • ·        A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in management at a senior level in the higher education environment
  • ·        Two (2) years cross-functional general management experience (this must include Finance and Academic Services)
  • ·        Unendorsed driver's license
