The Department of Public Health Medicine within the School of Medicine wishes to appoint a Specialist in Public Health Medicine for a period of three years who will contribute actively to the training and education of undergraduate medical students, registrars in Public Health Medicine (MMed) and Postgraduate students in Public Health and to build the knowledge base of the department. Coordination and facilitation of teaching activities within the department is required.
Minimum requirements
- MBChB or equivalent
- Registration as a Specialist in Public Health Medicine with the HPCSA
- A relevant Master's degree in Public Health Medicine
- Public Health related skills including Epidemiology, Health Services Management, Health Service Strengthening and Intervention Implementation, Programmatic Monitoring and Evaluation
- Experience of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Public Health Medicine,
- Ability to communicate to a variety of audiences through various media would be considered an advantage.
