- The successful candidate will be expected to lecture undergraduates and postgraduate students and assist in supervising and mentoring students (honours, master’s & PhD); to contribute to the academic functions within the discipline of sociology; and to actively participate in community engagement projects and in the development of the discipline
The incumbent will report to the Academic Leader: Sociology
Minimum requirements
- PhD degree in Sociology and /or relevant discipline
- Three (3) years working experience in either Teaching, Lecturing, Research or Industry (in the relevant field or discipline).
- Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level
- A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and/or PhD level appropriate for the level
- Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as a member of a team
