The incumbent is responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining contact with the schools’ community with a view to recruiting quality students in accordance with the recruitment strategy. This involves developing a thorough understanding of the University as a whole, its undergraduate offerings and entrance requirements, making presentations to learners, parents and teachers, organizing Schools Liaison/Recruitment campus-based and off-campus activities and providing support to the Colleges on a range of recruitment and PR related activities and events. Use digital platforms to engage with schools and education stakeholders regularly.
The incumbent will report to the Manager: Student Recruitment.
Minimum requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing OR Communications; Education, Psychology (Counselling or Educational Psychology); including any other relevant field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ work experience, of which 3 years will be in a student recruitment environment
- An expert knowledge of complex organisational structures such as universities
- A good understanding of the University environment and culture, high level of interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to represent and promote the University, to foster links between the University and relevant stakeholders, to and work closely with the Colleges and support departments on campus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Multilingualism)
- Proven computer experience in email, MS Word, Excel, Database and Power Point.
- Able to use audio-visual equipment.
- A Driver’s licence (2 years’ experience)
