Introduction
The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) has been awarded an allocation by the ETDP SETA to implement a Graduate Internship Programme aimed at providing unemployed graduates with valuable workplace experience in the field of Information Technology. This programme is funded through the ETDP SETA’s discretionary grant, which supports initiatives that enhance graduate employability and skills development.
Job description

  • Provide IT support and troubleshooting to staff and students
  • Assist with network and systems administration tasks
  • Support digital transformation and technology enhancement initiatives
  • Maintain IT inventory, assist in hardware/software installations
  • Perform any additional IT-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Minimum requirements

  • Qualification: National Diploma in Information Technology (NQF Level 6)
  • Status: Unemployed graduate
  • Age: 18 – 35 years
  • Availability: Must be available for the full 24-month duration
  • Additional: No prior full-time work experience related to the field of study

Competencies and Skills

  • Basic knowledge of computer systems, networks, and software
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative
