UKZN Press (The Press) is a publishing institution within the University of KwaZulu-Natal, situated on the Pietermaritzburg campus. The Press is a quality publisher of scholarship and general expertise books for both academic and general readers. Our range includes social, political, economic, and military history, gender, natural sciences, African literature and selected literary works.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in bookkeeping, invoicing, and financial administration, with a strong focus on accounts receivable and customer liaison. Experience within the publishing sector will be advantageous. The incumbent must be highly organised, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently.
Minimum requirements
- A relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet and word-processing applications.
- Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles, invoicing processes, and financial administration.
- At least two (2) years’ experience in a finance or bookkeeping role, including invoicing and direct communication with customers.
- Experience with Pastel Accounting or similar accounting software.
- Experience in a publishing or academic institutional environment.
- Familiarity with finance and accounting processes within the UKZN environment
