Job description

Responsibilities:
To promote positive mental health and facilitate the holistic development, and emotional well-being of the College of Health Sciences students, through the provision of assessment, individual and group counselling/therapy, wellness programmes, skills development, and referral services.

Minimum requirements:

Ÿ  * Master’s degree in Psychology (Counselling, Clinical, Educational or Industrial) or Master’s degree in Social Work (with specialisation in Clinical Social Work)

Ÿ  * Current professional registration as an independent practitioner with the HPCSA or SACSSP.

Ÿ  * Two (2) years of post-registration, relevant experience as an independent practitioner.

Ÿ *  Knowledge of student learning, and development theories

Ÿ  * Must have the flexibility to offer the contracted hours of service in either the working day, afternoons, evenings or weekends.

Ÿ  * Services must be offered face to face at the respective DCTP site.

* Sessional Student Counsellors must have time available to offer services for a minimum of 15 hours per week

 Applicants are required to submit a Cover letter highlighting their experience in each of the requirements listed above and attach a CV including the names and contact details of 3 referees.
