Introduction
The Supervisor will supervise Gardens and Grounds staff and oversee contractors involved in garden and grounds maintenance.
Job description
- Main duties include planning and scheduling work, maintaining discipline, conducting on-the-job training, controlling equipment and stock, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and performing general administrative and supervisory duties
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (matric certificate)
- A Certificate in Horticulture or Landscaping
- A valid, unendorsed Code 10 driver’s licence with PrDP
- 3 years of experience in a similar environment, with at least one year in a supervisory role
Knowledge of:
- Propagation and maintenance of plants
- Landscaping and general garden maintenance
- Turf maintenance
- Equipment operation
- Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel)
- Good communication skills
- Experience in a similar role in a university environment will be an added advantage
