Introduction
The Supervisor will supervise Gardens and Grounds staff and oversee contractors involved in garden and grounds maintenance.
Job description

  • Main duties include planning and scheduling work, maintaining discipline, conducting on-the-job training, controlling equipment and stock, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and performing general administrative and supervisory duties

Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12 (matric certificate)
  • A Certificate in Horticulture or Landscaping
  • A valid, unendorsed Code 10 driver’s licence with PrDP
  • 3 years of experience in a similar environment, with at least one year in a supervisory role
Knowledge of:
  • Propagation and maintenance of plants
  • Landscaping and general garden maintenance
  • Turf maintenance
  • Equipment operation
  • Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel)
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience in a similar role in a university environment will be an added advantage
