Introduction
The key component of this role is to ensure that supplier transactions are processed accurately and timeously. Ensuring that the liability raised is correctly due and payable.
Job description
The incumbent will be responsible for validating accounts payable for accuracy and compliance (Invoices match the purchase order, goods received voucher, and the goods invoice, meeting university compliance requirements. capture debit, and credit notes onto the ITS System, cancel the commitments on request, and identify foreign creditors for creation.
Minimum requirements
- Matric/Grade 12
- 3-year accounting-orientated degree or diploma
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a creditors/accounts payables section
- Fully computer literate, including MS Excel and MS Word
- Higher Education Institutional or Public Service Sector experience
- Good communication skills - verbal and written.
- Good negotiating skills to secure settlement discounts wherever possible.
- Good interpersonal skills.
