Introduction
The School of Medicine wishes to appoint a motivated and an experienced Laboratory Technician to join the fast-growing KwaZulu Natal Research Innovations and Sequencing Platform (KRISP). In this position, an incumbent will play a key role in supporting the KRISP laboratory with conducting research and diagnostic tests to meet project deadlines and allocated turnaround times.

Minimum requirements

Minimum Requirements:

·       B. Tech in Microbiology / virology or equivalent tertiary qualification

·       Two years of working experience in molecular techniques such as extraction, PCR and sequencing

·       HPCSA-registration as a Medical Scientist or Medical Technologist (Virology)

·       Experience with ISO15189 accreditation

 Essential requirements:

·       Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Highly organized and detail orientated

·       Good laboratory practice
