Job description

500 Universities globally. The School of Social Sciences is well established with a strong research profile and has a large number of undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The school has an active Psychology discipline with a strong research profile, and a large number of postgraduate students within a vibrant postgraduate research programme.The incumbent will be required to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Psychology. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to be actively engaged in research and supervise student research projects at undergraduate and post-graduate levels. She/he will also be expected to contribute to other programmes and activities offered in the Discipline of Psychology.

The incumbent will report to the Head of Discipline: Psychology

Minimum requirements

Senior Lecturer

  • PhD degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • A professional Masters degree in Educational /Clinical /Counselling or Research Psychology.
  • Three (3) years working experience in either Teaching, Lecturing, Research or Industry (in the relevant field or discipline).
  • Evidence of current and sustained research publication record in quality scientific journals, appropriate for the level.
  • A track record of successful supervision of postgraduate students at Masters and/or PhD level as appropriate for the level.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply for research grants, either as the Principal Investigator or as a member of a team.
  • Evidence of registration with the Health Professions Council as a Registered Counsellor With at least 3 years of experience post-registration.
